A Great Thought for a Monday

I was sitting at my piano (I think this is where some of my best devotions take place) and came across this ~

The cross that He gave may be heavy, But it ne'er out-weighs His grace;

The storm that I feared may surround me, But it ne'er excludes His face.

The cross is not greater than His grace, The storm cannot

hide His blessed face; I am satisfied to know

that with Jesus here below, I can conquer every foe.

Coming out of a very busy work week and non-stop weekend I needed these words. Some days circumstances, people, obligations are heavy on our shoulders. It is such a relief to know His grace is greater.

Wish I had time for more but I've got a ton of stuff to catch up on. I hope you have a great Monday.

I too enjoy reading hymns by the piano and the one you quoted today is especially good! "When all around my soul gives way He then is all my hope and stay!" Is the picture from Colorado? Beautiful -"He owns the cattle on a thousand hills!"
Love ya friend!

it's amazing that God will give us songs or bible verses days before we know we might really need them. I love to know that God is always their for me. Love you all

Wilma,
Since baby and I are still too ill to go to church...Tonight I got to tune in and watch y'all's evening service at FBMC! YEA! I normally watch Hobe Sound FL's services, but couldn't get on today, so tried y'all! I've had trouble getting y'all's services to come on in times past, but today I had no trouble. I watched the whole service and really enjoyed it! It was a blessing! I was scanning the crowd for all of y'all fellow bloggers. I saw Tamra, and Janella's husband, and Kris, but couldn't find some of y'all. Maybe I just missed y'all or y'all were gone. Just thought that I'd drop by to tell you that I surely enjoyed "attending" y'all's church tonight! =D

Love, Heather =)

Dear Wayne and Wilma, Loved the post along with the rest of your blog posts that Heather and I enjoy reading. I also wanted to thank you for taking the time to comment on my blog and to tell you that we really appreciate that you all are praying for us as you stated. That means a lot to us. You invited my response but if that comes it may have to come later seeing that I have been really busy with everything and now this ministry trip. But I do really appreciate that you took the time to share your thought. May God richly bless you and please continue to hold us up on prayer as we will plan to continue to do so for your dear family.

Great thoughts! If I played the piano well enough to be inspired I would do it, but I don't. I'm glad that you can find inspiration at the piano.
God Bless,
Love ya all lots!

Thanks for posting a quote from Ballington Booth's hymn, "The Cross Is Not Greater." Today is the anniversary of his birth in 1857. The Christian life certainly has many challenges, but God's daily grace is sufficient for all (II Cor. 9:8). God bless.
